Dear Realtor,

When they investigated, they found my father-in-law, lying in the snow, waving a small flashlight.

He had driven down an old logging road, gotten stuck, and walked a mile and a half through the snow, in the dark, in twenty-five-degree weather, and had gone as far as he could.

The Lopushinskys cancelled their New Years plans, took him back to their home, wrapped him up, and called his family. Then they called an ambulance, as Hugh was showing signs of hypothermia.

Pete and a friend trekked to where the car was stuck to assess damage and get a location, in case we needed a tow truck.

When the ambulance arrived, Tami rode to the hospital with this soul-in-need, whom she had just met, and stayed with him for hours, until we could come across the pass and pick him up.

Then Pete and Tami led us back to where the car was stuck and helped us direct the tow-truck driver to their location. By this time it was well after midnight.

They saved our father's life; he would certainly never have survived the night, and this story could have had a much more tragic ending.

There are no words that any of us could find to adequately express our gratitude to Pete and Tami.

In a world in which most of the news is dark, the light that they shine reminds us that there are still saints among us.
